When we start planning for our career then from our childhood itself we tend to think about job and career growth. Everyone has a dream of working in a renowned MNC atleast once in our life. Like many of us, I also had a dream.
During my college days when I was in my 2nd year, I got to know about Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Nextstep portal. It's TCS official portal where students can participate in various competitions conducted by TCS and also apply for job through it. Fortunately, I created the account for participating in a competition.
During my third year, I started preparing for internship and job then I came to know about TCS Ninja exam which is a nationwide off campus drive conducted every year by TCS to hire the best talent from all over the India irrespective of their college/university.
I applied for TCS Ninja exam. However, I came know that there are two profiles for which TCS hires which are as follows:
1. TCS Ninja
2. TCS Digital
TCS Ninja offers 3.36 LPA (this may vary as per your educational background).
Here is a suprise for you. Digital profile offers you a package of 7 LPA and also ensures that you work on Digital Technologies like Machine Learning, Cloud ComputingIe, IoT etc.
Unfortunately, there is no option to choose anyone. Any candidate who performs extremely well in TCS Ninja written test will only be eligible for TCS Digital Test.
Let's not lose hope. You still have this great opportunity in your hand. Are you wondering how is it possible?
Yes, you heard it right. You still have this opportunity in your hand. Since, you have already cleared the Ninja test the rest of the selection process will happen and if you perform well then you will surely get a job in Ninja profile.
After this, I came to know about TCS selection process and exam pattern which is as follows:
Round 1: Online written test
Round 2: Interview
An online written test comprises of four sections which are as follows:
This section consist of 15 questions from various topics. It's difficulty level is average. You will get 10 minutes to solve.
This section consist of aptitude and reasoning questions from various topics. There are total 15 questions. It's difficulty level vary from medium to high. You will get 30 minutes to solve.
This section consist 10 questions of C and C++ programming concepts. It's a quite difficult section due to time limit. You will get 20 minutes to solve.
This section consist of only one coding question. Questions will be based on logical concepts. Languages allowed to solve question are C, Python, Perl, Java. You will get 30 minutes to solve.
There is NO section cut off. Overall marks is considered for further process.
As mentioned above, if you perform extremely well in this round. You will be called for another test which will be for TCS Digital profile having same question pattern.
After round 1, you will need to wait for the result. The next round will be interview round which consist of Technical and HR Interview
In this interview, your Technical knowledge will be judged. However, there are certain other parameters on which you will be judged too.
If you clear the Technical round, you will be called for HR round on the same day. The company's HR will ask some basic HR questions like Tell me something about yourself? etc.
I cleared the Online written test and interview and ended up getting the TCS Ninja profile.
The written test was quite good. English section section and coding section was not too difficult. However, the other two sections were quite difficult.
Make sure you prepare well for it and don't lose hope.
Interview was also quite difficult as they were judging on various parameters. Make sure you prepare your answers thoroughly. For tips to crack interview, read another post. The link is mentioned in "Further reading section".
Hope this will help you to prepare!!!
All the very best!!!
